Focus and Services
My
Mission: Empower you to build wealth and financial
security, Improve
your life through
education and investments, Honor your values (social, ethical,
spiritual),
Encourage charitable giving to enhance the well being of our communities
and the less fortunate, and Foster sustainability for future
generations and Mother Earth.
My interest in socially responsible investing (SRI)
started from investing for myself as a social activist. When I started
investing,
friends asked
me for advice. Realizing how complex investing has become and the critical
need for sound, professional advice, I became a registered representative
in 1991, a Certified Financial Planner™ or CFP practicioner in
1993, and in 1997 joined Progressive Asset Management (PAM), an independent
broker/dealer specializing in SRI near San Francisco, so I could focus
on values-based investing. PAM recently merged with Financial West Group
(FWG).
My professional focus is to help make it easier for you.
Together we work to clarify your needs and goals and to develop a personalized
financial plan to assist you to attain your goals. Since financial
planning is based on a long-term professional relationship, I will continue
to monitor and report on your financial progress and recommend periodic
changes. I strongly believe in educating you so you can make wise financial
decisions.
My initial consultation with you is without obligation or
fee. I work with many clients on a fee-basis, based on a percentage
of assets under management. I believe these programs offer you a higher
standard of service and usually a wider range of investment choices.
And, since my compensation is directly affected by your investment
performance, our objectives are more aligned. In a fee-basis arrangement,
we use no-load mutual funds or private money managers. I believe, too,
that financial planning should be available to everyone. Therefore I
have no minimum account requirements. There are fee-based programs available
with relatively low minimums, as well. I am available to work with
individuals, businesses, charitable organizations, and speaking to
groups on request.
I will be happy to work with you on an hourly or
commission basis, if this is your preference or more appropriate for
your situation. My hourly fee is a sliding scale between $60 and $150.
Commissions vary with different products. I believe in full disclosure
and will provide you with all information on costs prior to any transaction.Back
